Terms of Service

The agreement for using Rust Server Admin — the website, the desktop app, and the Pro subscription. Plain language, and short enough to actually read.

Last updated: August 13, 2026

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account, installing the desktop app, or using rustserveradmin.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you are using it on behalf of an organisation or a server community, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for them.

2. What the service is

Rust Server Admin is an administration tool for Rust game servers running the Oxide (uMod) or Carbon modding frameworks. It connects to servers you control over SFTP/FTPS and RCON to inventory plugins, apply updates sourced from third-party marketplaces, run console commands, and track player activity.

It is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Facepunch Studios, uMod/Oxide, Carbon, Codefling, Lone.Design, Valve, or Discord. “Rust” refers to the survival game by Facepunch Studios and its trademarks belong to their owner.

3. Accounts

Accounts are created by signing in with Discord or Steam. You are responsible for keeping access to those accounts secure, and for everything done through your account. You must be old enough to hold the Discord or Steam account you sign in with, and old enough to enter a contract where you live.

One account is for one person. Do not share an account to work around subscription limits, and do not create additional accounts to obtain additional free trials.

4. Subscription, trial and billing

The desktop app can be used without an account for managing servers locally. A Pro subscription adds cloud sync of encrypted server credentials, browser-based RCON, and plugin inventory across devices.

Every new account gets 24 hours of full access from the moment it is created. No payment method is required for the trial, and there is nothing to cancel if you do not subscribe. When it ends, nothing is deleted — your servers, plugin inventory, player history and reports stay and stay readable. What pauses is control of your game server: RCON commands, plugin installs and live stats.

Subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis at the price shown at checkout, and renew automatically until cancelled. Subscribing charges you immediately. You can cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal; cancellation stops future charges and access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Prices may change with notice before your next renewal.

Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable. If something has gone genuinely wrong — you were double-charged, or billed after cancelling — contact us and we will sort it out.

5. Your servers, your responsibility

Only connect servers you are allowed to administer

By entering credentials you confirm you own the server or are authorised to administer it. Using this tool against a server you do not control is unauthorised access, and it is your problem rather than ours.

You are responsible for what you do with the tool: the commands you send, the plugins you install, the bans you issue, and the effect any of it has on your server and its players. Installing or reloading a plugin can break a live server, and updates come from third parties whose code we do not write or audit.

Where the app stores data about people who play on your server, you are the party responsible for that data. See the Privacy Policy for what is collected and why.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • connect to, scan, or send commands to any server you are not authorised to administer;
  • use the service to distribute cracked, nulled or otherwise pirated plugins, or to circumvent a marketplace's licensing;
  • attempt to break, overload, or probe the service, its rate limits, or its infrastructure, or use it to reach hosts unrelated to game-server administration;
  • resell, sublicense or rebrand the service without permission;
  • use it for anything unlawful where you are.

The Discord community has its own rules, which apply there in addition to these terms.

7. Third-party plugins and marketplaces

Plugin content comes from uMod, Codefling and Lone.Design. Their terms and licences govern what you may download and install, including anything you have to pay for. We do not grant you rights to third-party plugins, do not host their paid content, and are not responsible for what that code does on your server.

8. Intellectual property

The application, its interface and its content belong to the operator. These terms give you permission to use the service, not ownership of it. Your data — your server configuration, plugin inventory and player history — remains yours; you grant us only the permission needed to store and process it in order to run the service for you.

9. Availability and changes

The service is provided on an as-available basis. Features may change, and we may add, alter or remove functionality. We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability — hosting providers, marketplaces and game-server hosts all have outages of their own.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, that plugin version data will always be accurate, or that an update will not break something on your server.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, server downtime, lost players, or lost revenue, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case those limitations do not apply to you to the extent prohibited.

12. Termination

You can stop using the service at any time and ask for your account to be deleted. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms — particularly the acceptable-use section — and will try to give notice where it is reasonable to do so.

13. Governing law

Rust Server Admin is operated by rustserveradmin as a sole operator, and these terms are governed by the federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be brought in the courts of the United States.

14. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page changes when they do, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms. If a change materially reduces what you are getting, you can cancel.

15. Contact
