Discord community rules

Welcome to the official Rust Server Admin community. These rules keep support useful and members safe. By joining or remaining in the Discord server, you agree to follow them. Staff may update this page; the version here is the source of truth.

Last updated: July 19, 2026

Security first

Never paste server passwords, RCON details, or API keys in public channels. Prefer screenshots with secrets blurred. Staff will never ask you to DM a password or to “verify” your account via an unofficial link.

The rules

  1. 1

    Be respectful

Treat staff, members, and third-party authors with basic courtesy. Harassment, hate speech, personal attacks, doxxing, or targeted insults are not allowed. Disagreement is fine; abuse is not.

  2. 2

    Stay on topic

This server is for Rust Server Admin (rustserveradmin.com): plugin management, desktop/web setup, billing questions, feature requests, and related Oxide/Carbon admin workflows. Off-topic chat belongs only in channels marked for it.

  3. 3

    Use the right channels

Read channel descriptions before posting. Put bugs in the bug channel, support questions in support, and announcements stay read-only. Do not @everyone or spam staff DMs for general help.

  4. 4

    Never share secrets

Do not post SFTP/FTPS passwords, RCON passwords, Auth tokens, Stripe keys, Codefling API keys, .env contents, private SSH keys, or invite links that expose private infrastructure. Redact credentials in screenshots. If you leak a secret, rotate it immediately and tell staff so the message can be removed.

  5. 5

    No piracy or license abuse

Do not request, share, sell, or trade cracked, nulled, or stolen plugins or marketplace accounts. Do not ask for paid Codefling/Lone.Design/uMod resources without a legitimate license. Rust Server Admin does not help bypass marketplace paywalls.

  6. 6

    No scams, phishing, or malware

No fake “free Pro”, credential harvests, malicious download links, crypto schemes, or social-engineering attempts. Report suspicious DMs and posts to staff instead of clicking them.

  7. 7

    No spam or unauthorized advertising

No mass pings, wall-of-text dumps, repeated identical messages, invite farming, or unsolicited ads for servers, plugins, hosting, or competing tools. Partner or promo posts need prior staff approval.

  8. 8

    Support etiquette

When asking for help, include: desktop vs web, OS, roughly when it started, exact error text, and steps already tried. One issue per thread when possible. Do not demand immediate fixes; staff and community helpers are not 24/7 SLAs unless stated otherwise.

  9. 9

    No account or identity abuse

Do not impersonate Rust Server Admin staff, Discord moderators, Stripe support, marketplace staff, or other members. Do not share accounts to evade bans or subscription limits. Alt accounts used to dodge moderation will be banned.

  10. 10

    Follow Discord’s Terms of Service

You must also follow Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Members must meet Discord’s minimum age requirements. Anything illegal under applicable law is prohibited here.

Enforcement

Moderators apply these rules with judgment. Severity, intent, and history all matter. Trying to game the rules (“technically not against the wording”) still counts as a violation if it harms the community.

  • Warning

First minor issues usually get a warning and a chance to correct course.

  • Timeout / mute

Repeated disruption, spam, or heated arguments may result in a temporary mute.

  • Kick or ban

Severe or repeated violations (harassment, scams, piracy, credential dumps, ban evasion) can result in an immediate kick or permanent ban without further warning.

Reporting

If someone breaks these rules, report the message (Discord’s report flow) and ping or DM a moderator with a link or screenshot. Do not pile on or start a public argument.

Scope

These rules cover Discord activity. Product terms, billing, and privacy for rustserveradmin.com are handled separately through the website and payment provider. Community membership does not grant free Pro access or override subscription status.
